It takes me 40 minutes to get to the top after stopping a few times to admire the waterfalls on the way up. There was no one around and I had the vertigo inducing outcropping to myself. I took off my pack and made my way down to the end of the 6 foot wide cliff to take some photos and videos.

The view from Table Rock

After departing Table Rock, I meandered up to Mount Gloriette to the abandoned ski slopes. I turned right and I could see Percy Peak way off in the distance. I had spent a good amount of time hanging out at Table Rock and Mount Gloriette and it was time to start picking up the pace. It had been overcast all day and I knew rain was on the horizon. It was supposed to start just after noon and becoming increasingly steady throughout the night.

As I made my way down the road, two atv riders came up behind me. One slowed down, looked at me and gave me a thumbs up as if to ask if I’m good. I smiled and gave an I’m good thumbs up back. I mouthed thank you over the loud exhaust, and waved goodbye. He nodded in compliance and off they went.

It was starting to drizzle as I rounded the corner into Kelsey Notch. I only had three miles left to Baldhead Shelter.
