As I approached the Pondicherry Refuge, I met the same woman I had talked to before being picked up for my zeros. We chatted about the trail for a few minutes and she told me how proud she was of me as a single woman doing this alone. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" src=\"https:\/\/thespiritforest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_5284.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-263\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I spent the remainder of the day hiking through the refuge with nice weather predicted in the forecast for the remainder of this stretch. As I came upon Little Owlshead trailhead, I remembered the slog up this small, but fairly steep trail. Loaded up with water and food, my pack weighed me down as I slowly made the ascent to the summit. Once I arrived, I threw down my pack, pulled out some snacks and set up a Timelapse of the clouds rolling in. I had a few hours of daylight left and only a mile or so to camp for the night, so I took the time to relax before the steep downhill to Mt Martha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1536\" height=\"2048\" src=\"https:\/\/thespiritforest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_5338.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-285\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Alas, I\u2019m settled into my camp just off the trail. Dinner, sunset, and off to bed.
